Before I left Chase, I had a chance so use some of the new ATMs, and it was certainly cool (especially if you have multiple checks to deposit).

However, having switched to USAA recently, I must say the whole take-a-picture-with-your-iPhone thing is quite nifty. I love the look on people's faces when they hand me a check, and 2 minutes later I hand it back to them (with a big VOID across the front, of course). USAA also makes the funds available immediately, which is probably the reason why one of the prerequisites for the service is an open credit line with them.

(Oh, and the reason the banks can do any of this stuff at all is a 6-year-old law call "Check 21". Check 21 basically removed the requirement for institutions to transfer the physical document between themselves, and some banks are now passing that privilege on to customers.)
