Look Ma, I'm on TV!

Apparently I'm a TV star these days. My cousin Matthew is in town for Thanksgiving, and he mentioned offhandedly last night that he saw me on TV recently. KBYU filmed lots of footage of the rocket project I worked on, and they interviewed me and a few other team members, but I didn't think they were ever going to produce the segment since we never launched.

It turns out I was wrong. After a little digging, I found the 16 August 2008 edition of BYU Weekly, which featured the rocket. You can watch it below.

Nice! I'd heard about this airing, but hadn't see it yet. Funny how lots of the interview time was spent with the avionics team. :)

I hope the project, uh, gets off the ground in the future.

So can I use that in job interviews, too? "I used to live with Bruce Christiensen. Yes, the Bruce Christiensen. And he built a sweet rocket. I saw it once--and it made me feel smart..."

This is an amazing year for you. You went to several European countries, climbed several mountains, got to the top of the Kimball Tower, flew a plane, jumped out of a plane, AND had a supporting role in a TV special. I hope no one wants to come and interview your mother about what a spectacular son she has (although sometimes it is nice to brag).

You are famous!!! I almost went and showed all my roommates, but they would have laughed at me even more than they already do. But I showed Shavonne because she was willing to appease me for a minute.
